Royalty Base Price

The cost of a particular item used as a basis to determine a royalty. For example: the royalty base price for digital downloads is defined in most contracts as 70% of the retail price (or a “deemed wholesale price”). The per-unit royalty a performing artist will receive is computed by multiplying their royalty percentage by the royalty base price.
